An unprecedented CSI and TWO AND A HALF MEN "writers' crossover," cliffhanger finales and the crowning of the Ultimate Survivor, are among the highlights of CBS's May sweeps.

 

A CSI investigating a murder at Charlie Harper's house?  Grissom and the team investigating the mysterious death of a diva sitcom star?  It's all part of a first-ever  "writers' crossover," in which CSI's writers will pen an episode of TWO AND A HALF MEN and MEN's scribes will write an episode of CSI.

 

The May 5 episode of TWO AND A HALF MEN is written by CSI writers Sarah Goldfinger and Evan Dunsky from a story by CSI executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Naren Shankar.   The May 8 episode of CSI was written by Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn, executive producers/writers of TWO AND A HALF MEN. Also in May, the winner of SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA - FANS VS. FAVORITES, will be crowned in a special two-hour broadcast followed by the live reunion show hosted by Jeff Probst; Drew Carey returns to host four new PRICE IS RIGHT MILLION DOLLAR SPECTACULAR primetime specials; and Reba McEntire hosts the 43RD ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS.

The Young and the Restless premiered on March 26, 1973.  Originally a half-hour drama, it was extended to an hour in 1980.

Truly a legend in the television industry, William Bell enjoyed a 25-year tenure as head writer and senior executive producer of The Young and the Restless -- the longest in the history of daytime drama.  He wrote more than 15,000 episodes of daytime drama that aired continuously and without interruption since 1956.  He created two of the eight serial dramas that currently constitute the daytime drama lineup and was a writer or head writer for three others.  In fact, Bell once worked as head writer on two daytime dramas simultaneously: from 1966-1977 on NBC's Days of our Lives and from 1973-1977 on The Young and the Restless.  Bell's writing trademarks have become the standards for the industry -- fascinating and complex characters, intricate relationships, heartfelt romance and sensitive, timely treatments of both serious and controversial social issues and topics.

NEW YORK,  March 14 - Working for scale, and some freshly cut grass, a gnu takes center stage in CBS's advertising and promotion campaign touting the return of an "All Gnu" Monday night of episodes of the Network's popular block of comedy series, Monday, March 17 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  In both the on-air and print promotional campaigns, a stately gnu acts as a mascot of sorts for the return of the all-original episodes of the hit comedy series "The Big Bang Theory," "How I Met Your Mother," "Two and a Half Men" and "The New (or Gnu) Adventures of Old Christine."

CBS will introduce two new dramas this summer, premiering SWINGTOWN on Thursday, May 29 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) and FLASHPOINT in July.  [EDITORS NOTE: The premiere date and time period for FLASHPOINT will be announced at a later date.]

 

SWINGTOWN, from the director of "Big Love" and "Rome," peeks into the shag-carpeted suburban homes of the culturally transformative '70s to find couples reveling in the sexual and social revolution that introduced women's liberation and challenged conventional wisdom.  During this heady era of provocative change, Susan and Bruce Miller move their family to an affluent Chicago suburb where they're confronted with personal choices, experimentation and shifting attitudes, all against the backdrop of a changing social climate defined by its unforgettable music, fashion and style.

 

FLASHPOINT is an emotional journey into the tough, risk-filled lives of a group of cops in the SRU (inspired by Toronto's Emergency Task Force).  It's a unit that rescues hostages, busts gangs, defuses bombs, climbs the sides of buildings and talks down suicidal teens.  As they race against the clock to determine what brought these people to their respective breaking points, members of this highly skilled team use their training in negotiating, profiling and getting inside the suspect's head to diffuse the situation to try to save lives.

Stage and screen superstar and country music icon Reba McEntire returns for an unprecedented 10th time to host the 43RD ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, country music's biggest party of the year, to be broadcast live from Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena, Sunday, May 18 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.  The event honors country music's top talent as well as the industry's hottest emerging talent. 

 

McEntire is a country music legend who has delivered number one songs for more than 20 years, and has sold more than 50 million records over the course of her incredible career. Her name and voice are synonymous with country music.  In 2001, after conquering the country music world many times over, McEntire set her sights on Broadway where she starred in the hugely successful revival of Irving Berlin's "Annie Get Your Gun."  Soon after, she began work on her sitcom, "Reba," for which she was awarded a 2001 People's Choice Award and a 2004 Golden Globe nomination. 

 

McEntire's current album, Duets, debuted at the top of the pop and country charts in late 2007 and has already earned a top two single and platinum sales status.  Reba's #1's, her compilation album, celebrated platinum certification in 2006 and is a celebration of a career that has included 33 number one songs, 29 albums, multiple awards and countless shows and performances.

McEntire has won 11 Academy of Country Music Awards and has received a total of 41 nominations.             The videos for forty-five quarter finalists who will compete for a spot to perform with five-time GRAMMY nominated rock band Foo Fighters in "My GRAMMY Moment" 2008, were revealed on YouTube.  The performance will take place on THE 50TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS, ­Sunday, Feb. 10 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.  The quarter finalists were selected after a thorough evaluation process by a GRAMMY® Blue Ribbon Committee made up of singers, songwriters, producers and music industry executives. Music fans can vote for 15 musicians they think should be a part of Foo Fighters Orchestra by voting online at CBS.com (http://www.cbs.com/specials/my_grammy_moment/) or YouTube (www.youtube.com/mygrammymoment) through Jan. 27, 2008.

 

Over the next two weeks, fans will continue to narrow the field from 15 semi-finalists to three finalists and, eventually, one musician from the orchestra will be chosen as the featured performer.  Led Zeppelin's legendary multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones will arrange a special orchestral version of Foo Fighters' hit single "The Pretender" and will serve as special guest conductor of Foo Fighters Orchestra.  "My GRAMMY Moment" 2008 content will also be available across the CBS Audience Network and its more than 200 online partners.

Nominations were announced today for THE 50TH ANNUAL GRAMMY® AWARDS, with the winners of the awards, generally recognized as the most prestigious in the recording field, to be announced during a special to be broadcast live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Sunday, Feb. 10 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.  This year's nominations reflect one of the most diverse years ever with the Album of the Year category alone representing the country, hip-hop, jazz, pop and rock genres.

 

Kanye West tops the nominations with eight, Amy Winehouse garnered six and the Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and T-Pain earned five nominations each. Akon, Dierks Bentley, Chris Daughtry, Feist, Tim McGraw, John Newton, Ne-Yo, Rihanna and Bruce Springsteen received four each.

            Frosty, that "jolly, happy soul" whose old silk hat full of magic has turned him into a musical Christmas legend, once again demonstrates his unique showmanship in FROSTY THE SNOWMAN, the popular animated musical special narrated by Jimmy Durante, to be rebroadcast Wednesday, Dec. 19 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  (Originally broadcast 12/07/69)

 

            Comedian Jackie Vernon provides the voice of Frosty in the Christmas fable, originally broadcast Dec. 7, 1969 on the Network.  The special, based on the popular song of the same title by Jack Rollins and Steve Nelson about the happy-go-lucky snowman with the "corncob pipe, a button nose and two eyes made out of coal," features Billy De Wolfe as the voice of the villainous Professor Hinkle, a magician whose stovepipe hat transforms the lifeless snow figure into an enchanting song-and-dance man.

 

            Pursued by the hatless professor and rising temperatures, Frosty sets off for the North Pole to keep from melting.  En route, the indomitable snowman weathers a whirl of adventures and overcomes the threat of evaporation.

 

            The special was produced and directed by Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass, with additional lyrics and music by Bass and Maury Laws.  The story was written by Romeo Muller.

 

            Voices for all the additional characters are provided by Paul Frees and June Foray.

Winners will be revealed during the live broadcast hosted by Queen Latifah of THE 34TH ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Tuesday, Jan. 8 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.  As the first award show of 2008, THE 34TH ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS honors fan favorites in television, movies and music.

Potential nominees for THE 34TH ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS were compiled with the help of Knowledge Networks, a leading market research company along with members of the People's Choice Community.  Knowledge Networks used its consumer research resources, which include the only projectable, web-based, nationally representative panel to identify a pop culture-involved sample of men and women ages 18-49.  For each category, the respondents were provided with a set of candidates determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses and music sales.  The respondents then chose their favorites in Television, Movies and Music.  They also had the option to write in their favorites where not included among the provided candidates. Their top three selections in each category became the final nominees.

COMANCHE MOON, the last book in the "Lonesome Dove" saga to be made into a movie, follows Texas Rangers Augustus McCrae (Zahn) and Woodrow F. Call (Urban), now in their middle years, as they continue to deal with the ever-increasing tensions of adult life - Gus with his great love, Clara Forsythe (Cardellini), and Call with Maggie Tilton (Banks), the young prostitute who loves him.  Kilmer plays Captain Inish Scull, a Yankee aristocrat and hero of the recently concluded Mexican War.  Griffiths plays Inez Scull, the Captain's sexy wife who doesn't hesitate to fill her time with other men when he's away from home.   Wes Studi plays Comanche Chief Buffalo Hump.                                     

Two proud but very different men, McCrae and Call enlist with a Ranger troop in pursuit of three outlaws:  Buffalo Hump, the great Comanche war chief; Kicking Wolf (Jonathon Joss, "Into the West"), the celebrated Comanche horse thief; and Ahumado (Sal Lopez, "The Astronaut Farmer"),  a deadly Mexican bandit king with a penchant for slow torture.  Assisting the Rangers in their wild chase is the renowned Kickapoo tracker Famous Shoes (David Midthunder, "Into the West").  They are joined by their comrades-in-arms, Deets (Keith Robinson, "Dreamgirls"), Jake Spoon (Ryan Merriman, "The Ring Two") and Pea Eye Parker (Troy Baker, "Striking Range"), in the bitter struggle to protect an advancing western frontier against the defiant Comanches who are determined to defend their territory and their way of life.  The Rangers also encounter Buffalo Hump's violent outcast son, Blue Duck (Adam Beach, "Law & Order:  Special Victims Unit").

Val Kilmer is well-known to movie audiences for his role as Jim Morrison in the feature film "The Doors."  His other feature film credits include "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," "Batman Forever," "Tombstone," "The Saint," "Heat," "True Romance," "Willow," "At First Sight," "Thunderheart," "Alexander," "Mindhunters," "The Missing," "Blind Horizon," "Stateside" and "Wonderland."  During the production of "Wonderland," Kilmer began a photography project which yielded a behind-the-scenes pictorial book.  His photographs were also exhibited in several cities in the United States.  His television credits include the series "Numb3rs," on the Network, and "Entourage."

Steve Zahn's extensive feature film credits include "Rescue Dawn," "Happy, Texas," "Out of Sight," "Riding in Cars with Boys," "That Thing You Do!," "Sahara," "Bandidas," "SubUrbia," "Shattered Glass," "Daddy Daycare," "National Security," "Hamlet," "Joy Ride," "You've Got Mail" and "The Object of My Affection."  On television, he guest starred in an episode of "Friends."

Rachel Griffiths was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the feature film "Hilary and Jackie."  She was nominated for Emmy Awards for the television series "Six Feet Under" and "Brothers and Sisters," and won a Golden Globe Award for "Six Feet Under."  Her additional feature film credits include "Muriel's Wedding," "My Best Friend's Wedding" "Among Giants," "Blow," "Very Annie Mary," "Me Myself I," "The Rookie" and "Ned Kelley."  Her additional television credits include the Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation "Plainsong," on the Network.

Linda Cardellini is well-known for her role as Nurse Samantha Taggart on the long-running hit series "ER."  Her other television credits include "Freaks and Geeks," "The Twilight Zone," "Boy Meets World" and "Step by Step."  Her feature film credits include "Brokeback Mountain," "American Gun," "Grandma's Boy," "Scooby-Doo" and "Legally Blonde."

Elizabeth Banks can be seen in a recurring role on the series "Scrubs."  Her additional television credits include the series "Without a Trace," on the Network, "Law & Order:  Special Victims Unit," "Sex and the City" and "Third Watch."  She appeared as Betty Brant in "Spider-Man," "Spider-Man 2" and "Spider-Man 3."  Her other feature film credits include "The 40 Year Old Virgin," "Catch Me If You Can," "Daltry Calhoun" and "Sexual Life."

Wes Studi's television credits include the mini-series "Into the West" and "Streets of Laredo" as well as the television movies "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee," "A Thief of Time," "Coyote Waits," "The Lone Ranger," "Crazy Horse" and "The Broken Chain."  His feature film credits include "Road to Redemption," "Christmas in the Clouds," "The Killing Jar," "Heat," "The Last of the Mohicans," "The Doors," "Dances with Wolves" and "Powwow Highway."

Larry McMurtry was nominated for an Academy Award for his 1971 screenplay for "The Last Picture Show."   The feature films "Hud," which won three Academy Awards, and "Terms of Endearment," which won five Academy Awards, were both adapted from his novels.  He won the 1986 Pulitzer Prize for "Lonesome Dove."  With Diana Ossana, he recently won the Academy Award (Adapted Screenplay) and Golden Globe Award (Best Screen Play Motion Picture) for "Brokeback Mountain."

Director Simon Wincer and producer Dyson Lovell, who directed and produced "Lonesome Dove" respectively, served in those roles on COMANCHE MOON.

Emmy Award nominee JOE MANTEGNA will join the cast of CRIMINAL MINDS starring as FBI Special Agent David Rossi, an original member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit who took early retirement to go on lecture and book tours, and has volunteered to return to the unit.  Mantegna is scheduled to make his first appearance in the sixth episode of the season.  "We are all THRILLED to have Joe Mantegna joining our family.  He's an incredible actor, a genuinely nice person and, as a fellow Chicagoan, I can tell you he makes fantastic Italian Beef sandwiches and Chicago Style Hot Dogs," said Executive Producer Ed Bernero.

A.J. BUCKLEY will become a series regular after recurring for two seasons as Adam Ross, a CSI Tech guru out of Seattle.  Specializing in Computer Forensics, Ross is the go-to scientist for the latest technological applications needed to solve crimes in Manhattan. "He was hired by Mac Taylor to stay 'one step ahead' of the criminals in New York City, who often use more complicated technology than the average crime lab in the country.  Therefore, Ross is the X-factor in crime solving and necessary 'ringer' to fight the most complex and sophisticated crimes," said Anthony E. Zuiker, Creator and Executive Producer of the CSI  Franchise.

GHOST WHISPERER Fridays, 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT

JAY MOHR will become a series regular, playing Professor Payne who provides an encyclopedic knowledge of the spirit world, as well as genuine concern for Melinda's (Jennifer Love Hewitt) safety as she puts herself in ever greater danger to protect those she cares about - even though he hides his concern behind an ever-present irreverent sense of humor.  "We're thrilled to have Jay as a series regular this year.  He's a terrific actor who is fun to work with for the same reasons he's fun to watch: he brings humor, energy, creativity and spontaneity to the set and to his role.  He also brings sports commentary and sometimes donuts," says Executive Producer P.K.              JESSE STONE: THIN ICE, starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner and current Emmy Award Nominee Tom Selleck ("Magnum P.I." and "Jesse Stone: Sea Change"), has started production in Halifax, Nova Scotia for broadcast on the CBS Television Network.  Selleck reprises his role as Jesse Stone in the fifth installment of the Jesse Stone franchise from Sony Pictures Television, which includes "Stone Cold," "Jesse Stone: Night Passage," "Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise" and "Jesse Stone: Sea Change."  The movies are based on the best-selling series of books by Robert B. Parker. 

            In JESSE STONE: THIN ICE, Paradise, Mass. Police Chief Jesse Stone finds himself in trouble with the Town Council when he inadvertently becomes involved in a shoot-out on a Boston street.   His friend, State Homicide Commander Healy, is seriously wounded and Jesse comes under investigation by the Boston Police Department's Internal Affairs Division, which causes him to be away from Paradise for extended periods of time.   

     Jesse further alienates the Council by firing the Paradise Police Department's most prodigious ticket writer, resulting in a considerable loss of revenue for the town.    His issues with the Council are further exacerbated when a celebrated out of towner shows up in Paradise in search of her missing child, and Jesse agrees to take her case.    His continued defiance of the Council's wishes now begins to jeopardize his very job.

            Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Kathy Baker and Kohl Sudduth reprise their roles as the only police officers in Paradise.  Stephen McHattie reprises his role as State Homicide Commander Healy, as does William Devane as Jesse's psychiatrist, Dr. Dix.  Multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Award Winner Camryn Manheim ("The Practice") joins the cast as Elizabeth Blue, a desperate woman in search of her child along with Emmy Winner Joanna Miles ("The Glass Menagerie") as a woman in Paradise who helps Jesse with his search for the missing child and Leslie Hope ("24"),  who stars as a beguiling and attractive internal affairs investigator.

15th Installment of the Hit Television Series Premieres on Thursday, Sept. 20

           CBS today announced the 16 new castaways who will compete in SURVIVOR: CHINA when the 15th installment of the Emmy Award-winning series premieres Thursday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

            SURVIVOR: CHINA will feature a cast of 16 Americans who will begin the series amid the bustle of downtown Shanghai before moving to HuangPu Mountain's Mi Tuo Temple for a Buddhist ceremony where they will be instructed to leave all of their worldly possessions behind. The castaways will then be marooned with the clothes on their back at two separate islands on Zhelin Lake (translation:  the Land of 1,000 Lakes) located in the Jiangxi Province.  They will split into two tribes, Fei Long (translation: Flying Dragon) and Zhan Hu (translation:  Fighting Tiger), and will each be given a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War for tribe motivation and assistance throughout the game.

           SURVIVOR: CHINA will once again afford each tribe the opportunity to obtain a Hidden Immunity Idol which may save someone from elimination at a future Tribal Council.  This time, two Hidden Immunity Idols will be in plain sight (one at each camp), although the castaways will not realize this at the start of the game.  Each week, the winning tribe of the Reward Challenge will be allowed to kidnap someone from the losing tribe.  The person who is kidnapped will receive a note from host Jeff Probst before departing for the enemy camp and will be instructed to give it to one member of the enemy tribe (the kidnapped victim will decide who receives it) in private.  The clue will inform this person of the Hidden Immunity Idol located somewhere at their camp.  This person must then decide if they wish to share the information with their tribe or keep it to themselves.  The kidnapped victim will return to their original tribe at the following Immunity Challenge.

          Joe Mantegna is currently nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in the summer mini-series, "The Starter Wife."  His additional television credits include the series "Joan of Arcadia," "First Monday," the mini-series "The Last Don" (Emmy Award nomination), and "The Last Don II," all on the Network, as well as "The Simpsons," the television movies "The Rat Pack" (Emmy Award nomination) and three installments of "Spenser for Hire."  His feature film credits include "Searching for Bobby Fischer," "The Godfather, Part III," "Bugsy" and "The Simpsons Movie."  Mantegna won a Tony Award for his performance in "Glengarry Glen Ross."

CBS today announced plans for the premieres of its new and returning series which includes the early debut of its freshman reality series KID NATION, as well as SURVIVOR: CHINA and most of its Sunday lineup during the week of Sept. 17.  The Network will launch the remainder of its schedule beginning Monday, Sept. 24, the official start of the 2007-2008 season.

CBS's new reality series KID NATION premieres Wednesday, Sept. 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) followed the next night with the debut of SURVIVOR: CHINA, Thursday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

Premiering on Sunday, Sept. 23 are the 40th season of 60 MINUTES, the longest running and highest rated newsmagazine (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT), the fifth season of COLD CASE (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and sophomore drama SHARK in its new time period (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT). 

VIVA LAUGHLIN, the new mystery drama with music, will have a special preview on Thursday, Oct. 18 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) following CSI before moving to its regular Sunday (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) time period on Oct. 21 to take advantage of a two week window in the schedule without football overruns.

New Interactive Twist That Will Give Viewers The Most Control They've Ever Had

In The Big Brother House Revealed

        CBS announced today the identities of the 14 Houseguests who will compete in BIG BROTHER 8, as well as the new creative twist that will play out during the summer broadcasts.  

             As always, BIG BROTHER Houseguests should expect the unexpected.  This season's twist will shock and most likely change the way some houseguests would have played the game had certain people not walked through the door.  

            On premiere night, Thursday, July 5 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), Houseguests will learn that some of them will be sharing the house with an enemy, a rival or someone with whom they have unfinished business -- in short, someone from their past who they had hoped never to see again or someone with whom there is an extreme amount of tension. 

            In addition to the surprise twist of an unwelcome person from their past, the premiere episode will reveal a new interactive element that will give viewers the most control they've ever had over someone in the BIG BROTHER house.  For the first time...America is in the house. 

         One participant has been selected to be "America's Player."  At the conclusion of every episode, beginning Sunday, July 8 (8:00-9:00 ET/PT), a question will be asked of viewers where they will vote on an important assignment that "America's Player" must complete.  It could be a strategic move or a personal action.  They must attempt to do what viewers request, including voting out a specific Houseguest.  And, they can never tell anyone in the house that they are working on behalf of the viewers.  But, they need to be careful...just like their fellow Houseguests, they can be voted out at any time.  If "America's Player" successfully accomplishes these assignments, they will be financially rewarded.   Viewers will be able to vote on cbs.com or via text messaging on a mobile phone and will choose from multiple choice answers on each question.  The prevailing vote must be completed by "America's Player" in order for him or her to be rewarded.

           BIG BROTHER follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day.  One by one, the Houseguests will vote each other out of the house.  At the end of three months, the last remaining Houseguest will receive the grand prize of $500,000.   

            BIG BROTHER 8 debuts Thursday, July 5 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  Following the premiere, BIG BROTHER 8 will be broadcast three nights weekly, on Sundays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and the live eviction show, hosted by Julie Chen, on Thursdays (8:00-9:00 PM live ET/delayed PT).

Barker's Final Episode of "The Price is Right" to Lead into Opening of Awards Show

         Dr. Phil McGraw will present a tribute to legendary game show host Bob Barker at THE 34th ANNUAL DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT EMMY AWARDS^TM, to be broadcast live from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre, Friday June 15 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT), on the CBS Television Network.  

          Barker is retiring from "The Price is Right" after 35 years as host, and over 50 years in show business.  His final airing of "The Price is Right" is Friday, June 15, and will re-air that evening (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), with a very special ending, leading into the opening of the awards show.

          In addition, Emmy Award-winning actresses Betty White and Susan Flannery of "The Bold and the Beautiful" are scheduled to present.

•·                    CBS and RealNetworks®, Inc., join forces for the seventh straight season to provide exclusive 24/7 live streaming video from inside the BIG BROTHER 8 house.  The webcast coverage debuts immediately following the July 5 premiere of BIG BROTHER 8 and will be accessible through the official BIG BROTHER 8 website at CBS.com and through Real's SuperPass subscription service at www.real.com/bigbrother.     

•·                    The entire three-month live 24/7 Internet feed of BIG BROTHER 8 is available through SuperPass.  Subscribers to the 24/7 video stream can watch any one of four live camera feeds from inside the BIG BROTHER 8 house or catch all of the action at once with the special quad-cam view which allows fans to see four different video feeds simultaneously. Last year's All-Star edition was the first season that supplied around-the-clock updates from inside the BIG BROTHER house to CBS's mobile subscribers.  Once again, CBS will offer its mobile subscribers a unique look into the world of the Houseguests competing in BIG BROTHER 8:

            CBS announced today its 2007-2008 Fall Primetime lineup, featuring five new series - one comedy, three dramas and one reality program. 

           These freshman series will join 17 returning programs on the current CBS lineup, which will win the 2006-2007 season in viewers and adults 25-54, continuing the Network's multi-year winning streak.

            The five new series feature bold and creative concepts, including Viva Laughlin, where drama is accented by iconic music; Cane, starring Jimmy Smits as the head of a powerful South Florida Cuban-American family; Moonlight, a romantic thriller with a new twist on the vampire legend; The Big Bang Theory, a comedy about genius geeks from "Two and A Half Men" co-creator Chuck Lorre; and KID NATION, a reality series where 40 kids will try to build a new society in an abandoned ghost town.

            "We approached our development this year with a specific goal in mind - to be daring and different," said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment. "The Fall and mid-season series we have selected offer creativity and variety with great potential to excite and surprise television audiences everywhere."

            These new shows will be woven into a deep and successful lineup that returns more series and has more time period-winning programs than any other network. CBS will return television's Number One drama and scripted program, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION; the Number One comedy, TWO AND A HALF MEN; the Number One new comedy, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT; the Number One news magazine, 60 MINUTES; and the premiere reality series, SURVIVOR.

           Also returning are: HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, CSI: MIAMI, NCIS, THE UNIT, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: NY, WITHOUT A TRACE, GHOST WHISPERER, NUMB3RS, COLD CASE and SHARK, as well as 48 HOURS: MYSTERY and CRIMETIME SATURDAY.

            The new 2007-2008 schedule is:

            On Monday, CBS adds a new series to television's top rated comedy lineup.  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, with a young and loyal audience, returns at 8:00 PM, paired with the new genius comedy THE BIG BANG THEORY at 8:30 PM to form a young adult comedy block.  From 9:00-10:00 PM, CBS returns television's top comedy, TWO AND A HALF MEN, followed by the Number One new comedy, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.  At 10:00 PM, CSI: MIAMI, the night's Number One scripted series, returns for its sixth season.

          On Tuesday, the Top 20 hit NCIS and THE UNIT return from 8:00-10:00 PM. This successful two-hour drama block will serve as a launching pad for the stylish new drama CANE at 10:00 PM.

           On Wednesday, CBS returns its successful duo of CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI: NY from 9:00-11:00 PM.  Earlier in the evening at 8:00 PM, the network will try something very different with a new reality series, KID NATION, starring 40 remarkable kids attempting to prove they can form a functioning society in an abandoned New Mexico ghost town, where their adult predecessors failed.

         On Thursday, CBS returns one of television's top dramas, WITHOUT A TRACE, to 10:00 PM, joining forces once again with the time period-winning SURVIVOR at 8:00 PM and CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, television's Number One drama, at 9:00 PM.

          CBS will again use an established series as a launch pad for a new one on Friday.  GHOST WHISPERER opens at 8:00 PM as a compatible lead-in to the new romantic thriller MOONLIGHT at 9:00 PM, followed by the return of the time period-winning drama NUMB3RS at 10:00 PM.

            Saturdays will feature CBS's CRIMETIME programming from 8:00-10:00 PM, followed by 48 HOURS: MYSTERY, the night's top-rated program.

            On Sunday, CBS will once again open with 60 MINUTES, the perennial Number One newsmagazine on television. At 8:00 PM, CBS will make one of its biggest moves with one of its boldest new shows, VIVA LAUGHLIN, a drama with music, based on the British hit "Viva Blackpool." From 9:00-11:00 PM, the network will program a two-hour block of successful crime and justice with the growing COLD CASE and the sophomore series SHARK.         

            In addition to the new series for Fall, the network announced the pick up of three programs for midseason, including the four-time Emmy Award-winning THE AMAZING RACE, the comedy THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, starring Emmy Award winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and the provocative new drama SWINGTOWN.

            The network also announced it has ordered the reality series POWER OF 10, hosted by comedian Drew Carey ("The Drew Carey Show") for this summer.

THE BIG BANG THEORY is a comedy from the Emmy Award nominated Co-Creator and Executive Producer of "Two and a Half Men" Chuck Lorre, about brainy best friends Leonard (Johnny Galecki, "Roseanne") and Sheldon (Jim Parsons "Judging Amy"), who can tell you anything you want to know about quantum physics, but when it comes to dealing with everyday life here on earth they're lost in the cosmos.  Neither fully understands that scientific principles don't always apply in matters of the heart - until they meet their sexy new neighbor Penny (Kaley Cuoco, "8 Simple Rules..."), a friendly screenwriter/waitress from the midwest who also happens to be newly single.  She quickly makes an impression on the other members of Leonard and Sheldon's geek squad - Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip"), who portrays himself as the Casanova of Cal Tech, and fellow whiz kid Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar, "NCIS"), who is rendered speechless around anyone unprepared to converse about the Theory of Relativity or other scientific jargon.  The chemistry between this gaggle of geniuses and a delightful damsel is about to undergo a stimulating series of inter-personal experiments.  Multiple Emmy Award winner James Burrows ("Will & Grace") directed the pilot.  Lorre and Bill Prady ("Gilmore Girls," "Dharma & Greg") are executive producers for Warner Bros. Executive produced by Tony and Emmy Award winner Hugh Jackman ("The Boy from Oz," "X-Men"), VIVA LAUGHLIN is a mystery drama with music about eternal optimist and freewheeling businessman Ripley Holden, whose sole ambition is to run a casino in Laughlin, Nev. Occasionally using upbeat contemporary songs to accentuate the drama and humor and advance the story, the series is based on the hit BBC show "Viva Blackpool."  Ripley (Lloyd Owen, "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles") is the ultimate gambler with an infectious personality who is on the brink of making a killing... just as soon as he opens his casino that's nowhere near completion.  When his financing suddenly falls through, the fearless and tenacious Ripley approaches his enemy - dashing, sarcastic, wealthy casino owner Nicky Fontana (Hugh Jackman) for help.   Though the odds are stacked against him, Ripley doesn't miss a beat, even when he becomes embroiled in a murder investigation after the body of his ex-business partner is found at his club.   At home, Ripley uses his dry wit to adjust to the demands of his family: his gorgeous wife, Natalie (Madchen Amick, "ER"), wants more attention; his teenage daughter, Cheyenne (Ellen Woglom, "The O.C."), wants his approval; and his son, Jack (Carter Jenkins, "Surface"), wants to help him at work.  All of this adversity would defeat a lesser man, but for the outgoing and passionate Ripley there's no such thing as bad news, only deals to be struck and wagers to be won in the intoxicating neon glow of Laughlin, where the cards are on the table, romance is in the air and lively music is on the stage.  Eric Winter ("Wildfire") and D.B. CANE stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jimmy Smits ("The West Wing") in an epic drama about the external rivalries and internal power struggles of a large Cuban-American family running an immensely successful rum and sugar business in South Florida.  When the family patriarch, Pancho (Hector Elizondo, "Chicago Hope"), is offered a lucrative but questionable deal by his bitter adversary, the Samuels, to purchase thousands of acres of sugar fields, he's faced with a tough choice: Should he cash out of the sugar business and focus solely on rum, which would please his impulsive natural son, Frank (Nestor Carbonell, "Lost"), or protect the family legacy that he built from the ground up by not selling, and side with his adopted son, Alex (Smits), who mistrusts the Samuels and still sees value in sugar.  Alex and Frank's approach to business is as different as their approach to life.  While Frank might lose focus chasing women, Alex is deeply in love with his beautiful wife, Isabel (Paola Turbay, "Bailando por un Sueño"), who is also Pancho's daughter.  Married when she was just 17 years old, Isabel balances Alex by choosing not to involve herself in the business, focusing instead on their three children, who are determined to forge their own paths outside the family.  For the Duques, will family allegiance come first or will their secrets and acrimonious conflicts over love, lust and control of the family fortune be their downfall?  Eddie Matos ("General Hospital"), Rita Moreno ("West Side Story"), Michael Trevino ("The Riches"), Lina Esco ("CSI: NY"), Sam Carman ("Bones"), Alona Tal ("Veronica Mars") and Polly Walker ("Rome") also star.  Cynthia Cidre ("The Mambo Kings"), Jonathan Prince ("American Dreams"), Jimmy Iovine ("8 Mile") and Polly Anthony ("Lifehouse: Live in Portland!") are the executive producers for ABC Studios in association with CBS Paramount Network Television.

MOONLIGHT, from prolific movie producer Joel Silver ("The Matrix," Trilogy), is about Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin, upcoming "White Out"), a captivating "undead" private investigator who uses his acute vampire senses to help the living... instead of feeding on them. In an agonizing twist of fate, Mick was "bitten" 60 years ago by his new bride, the seductive and beguiling Coraline (Amber Valletta, "Hitch").  Immortal and eternally as young, handsome and charismatic as he was then, Mick is sickened by Coraline and other vampires who view humans only as a source of nourishment. With only a handful of undead confidantes for company, including deceitful ally Josef (Rade Serbedzija, "24"), Mick fills his infinite days protecting the living, and trying not to think about how his life would have been if he hadn't followed his heart.  However, after six decades of resisting, he wonders if it's time to pursue the love of a mortal. He has his eyes on Beth Turner, a beautiful, ambitious reporter who has been covering the ongoing plague of unusual murders. KID NATION is a reality-based series in which 40 kids will have 40 days to build a new world - in a ghost town that died in the 19th Century.  These kids, ages 8-15, will spend more than a month without their parents or modern comforts in Bonanza City, N.M., attempting to do what their forefathers could not - build a town that works. They will cook their own meals, clean their own outhouses, haul their own water and even run their own businesses - including the old town saloon (root beer only). They'll also create a real government - four kid leaders who will guide the group through their adventure, pass laws and set bedtimes. Through it all, they'll cope with regular childhood emotions and situations: homesickness, peer pressure and the urge to break every rule they've ever known. At the end of each episode, all 40 kids will gather at an old fashioned Town Hall meeting where they will debate the issues facing Bonanza City. They'll show wisdom beyond their years and the unflinching candor that only kids can exhibit.  There are no eliminations on KID NATION - you only go home if you want to. And in every Town Hall meeting, kids may raise their hands and leave. Will they stick it out?   In the end, will these kids prove to adults everywhere (and their own parents!) that they have the vision to build a better world than the pioneers who came before them? POWER OF 10, hosted by award-winning comedian Drew Carey ("The Drew Carey Show"), is a high-stakes game that challenges contestants to guess the behaviors, opinions and lifestyle choices of the American public for the chance to win $10 million.  POWER OF 10 polls thousands of people across the U.S. asking them, well, just about everything - from "What percentage of married Americans said they were virgins the day they got married?" to "What percentage of American's believe they are smarter than the president?" Each week, contestants must decide if they have their finger on the pulse of the American majority and can accurately predict the results of these nationwide surveys.   With the first question worth $1,000 and only five questions to answer, each one increasing 10 times in value, contestants participate in a potentially lucrative game where they just might walk away with $10 million.  The higher they are on the money ladder, the closer they must be to the actual statistic.  The studio audience and a friend can help them, but the final answer is theirs. "The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular" To Air May 16  

May 17 Special To Look Back At Barker's Remarkable Career In Television and Highlight Classic "The Price Is Right" Games  

             Emmy Award winner Bob Barker will be honored with two final primetime specials this May, paying tribute to his 50 years in show business and his upcoming retirement after 35 years of hosting "The Price Is Right," the longest-running game show in television history.  The specials will be broadcast Wednesday, May 16 and Thursday, May 17 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

             On Wednesday, May 16, CBS will present THE PRICE IS RIGHT MILLION DOLLAR SPECTACULAR, Barker's final appearance in prime time hosting the show he has led since 1972.  In this special primetime edition, contestants will have the opportunity to win bigger prizes and the chance to spin the wheel for $1 million. 

             On Thursday, May 17, BOB BARKER: A CELEBRATION OF 50 YEARS ON TELEVISION will include Barker's reminiscences about his 50 year career on television and his 35 years on "The Price Is Right," in addition to highlighting some classic games from the long-running show.

        CBS today introduced the 16 pirates who will compete in PIRATE MASTER, the new reality-based series from Emmy Award-winning producer Mark Burnett, when the show premieres Thursday, May 31 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

        Australian actor Cameron Daddo will serve as host.

            PIRATE MASTER will send 16 modern-day pirates on a high seas adventure where they will live as buccaneers and travel around the Caribbean island of Dominica in search of hidden treasure that will total $1 million.  Over the course of 33 days, these pirates will live aboard a massive 179 foot, square-rigged barque which carries 12,500 square feet of sail.

            Each week, the pirates will embark on extraordinary expeditions where they will decipher clues along the way in search of missing treasure.  Gold coins -- real money which the pirates may take with them beyond the show -- will be awarded after each expedition, but only to some.  The gold will play a key role as pirates strike deals with each other or plead for long-term security.  In addition to claiming the lion's share of the week's riches, one pirate will become the captain of the ship and will assign roles and chores to the remaining crew members, setting the tone for either law and order or betrayal and sabotage, which could lead to mutiny by the crew.

            Each episode will conclude on the ship at Pirate's Court, a lively gathering of public speaking and judgment where one individual will be eliminated and "cut adrift."  In the end, one will be the first to find the largest booty, worth $500,000, and claim the title of "Pirate Master."

The Next Epic Adventure Series From Emmy Award-Winning Producer Mark Burnett Premieres Thursday, May 31

            PIRATE MASTER, the next epic adventure reality series from Emmy Award-winning producer Mark Burnett, will premiere Thursday, May 31 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

            PIRATE MASTER will send 16 modern-day pirates on a high seas adventure where they will live as buccaneers and travel around the Caribbean island of Dominica in search of hidden treasure that will total $1 million.  Over the course of 33 days, these pirates will live aboard a massive 179 foot, square-rigged barque which carries 12,500 square feet of sail.

            Each week, the pirates will embark on extraordinary expeditions where they will decipher clues along the way in search of missing treasure.  Gold coins -- real money which the pirates may take with them beyond the show -- will be awarded after each expedition, but only to some.  The gold will play a key role as pirates strike deals with each other or plead for long-term security.  In addition to claiming the lion's share of the week's riches, one pirate will become the captain of the ship and will assign roles and chores to the remaining crew members, setting the tone for either law and order or betrayal and sabotage, which could lead to mutiny by the crew.

            Each episode will conclude on the ship at Pirate's Court, a lively gathering of public speaking and judgment where one individual will be eliminated and "cut adrift."  In the end, one will be the first to find the largest booty, worth $500,000, and claim the title of "Pirate Master."

            Series creator and executive producer Mark Burnett explains, "Pirate Master breaks new ground in that it's the collision of fantasy and reality. This is a show where, in true pirate fashion, anything can happen with a group of people that live by their own set of rules and usually break them. It's adventure, excitement and loads of treasure.         AFI'S 100 YEARS... 100 MOVIES -- 10th ANNIVERSARY EDITION, a new entertainment special counting down the 100 greatest movies of all time, will be broadcast on Wednesday, June 20 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  During the broadcast, the confidential list of the 100 greatest movies will be revealed by some of Hollywood's biggest stars. The program will consider classic favorites and newly eligible films released from 1996 to 2006. AFI has previously announced it will now undertake this as a decade-by-decade program to mark changing cultural perspectives.

       This will be the 10th annual special in the AFI's continuing celebration of American cinema, following the nine critically-acclaimed Network specials: "AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies," "...100 Stars," "...100 Laughs," "...100 Thrills," "...100 Passions," "...100 Heroes & Villains," "...100 Songs," "...100 Movie Quotes" and "...100 Cheers" which annually spark a national discussion of America's film history among movie lovers across the nation.

          AFI distributed a ballot with the names of 400 nominated movies to a jury of over 1,500 leaders in the creative community, including film artists (directors, screenwriters, actors, editors, cinematographers), critics and historians.

        Unlike the villain in the Austin Powers spy-spoof films, this Dr. Evil -- a.k.a. Washington lobbyist Rick Berman -- does not disappear when movie credits roll. He's a constant gadfly to other lobbyists and do-gooders who label him evil for taking money from corporations to fight causes like animal rights, healthy food, labor unions, even Mothers Against Drunk Driving.  Berman is merely taking the other side in issues, he tells Morley Safer, and to his critics he says, "Get over it."  Berman appears in a 60 MINUTES report to be broadcast Sunday, April 8 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

            Berman is criticized for his commercials and websites that he says point out the exaggerations of groups telling Americans what not to eat, drink or wear.  The attacks are personal, he says. "I don't get attacked for my information, I get attacked personally," says Berman, who has a message for his critics:  "Have I said anything that's wrong or am I just objectionable? And if I am objectionable, I say, 'Take a deep breath and get over it. I am not going away,'" Berman tells Safer.

            Through non-profit educational entities that corporations contribute to, Berman creates commercials that attack groups whose messages can harm the interests of those corporations. For example, one commercial, under the Center for Consumer Freedom label, shows a child whose ice cream is taken away and adults whose food and drink are likewise snatched.  "Everywhere you turn, someone is telling us what we can't eat...Find out who's driving the food police,"    explains the voiceover.

            Critics call him a hired gun, but Berman says he's not defending corporate America, just educating Americans with the paying support of companies. "I go out to people and I say, 'If you believe in what I believe, will you help fund it?' Now I don't know if that's a hired gun or not....I do get paid for educating people," he says.  "If that's my biggest crime, I stand accused." Berman also says what he does is a passion rather than a means of support. "I was making a lot of money before I ever started this firm. I do it because I believe in it...it's the right thing to do."

            "He's a PR guy. How can you believe anything he says?" remarks Dr. Michael Jacobsen, head of the Center for Science in the Public Interest.  "I think he's in favor of making a lot of money," continues Jacobsen, "a one-man goon-squad for any company that's willing to hire him. Berman is against every single measure, no matter how sensible. He'd have no restrictions on tobacco advertising, junk foods galore in the schools, no minimum wage. He wants to leave corporate America unfettered on any regulations that protect the public's health," says Jacobsen.

            What's more, critics charge, the corporations that hire him also hide behind him.  That's what he's there for, says Berman. "The businesses themselves don't find it convenient to take on causes that might seem politically incorrect," says Berman, "and I am not afraid to do that."

Nominees for THE 34TH ANNUAL DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT EMMY AWARDS were announced today by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences live on CBS News' "The Early Show," hosted by anchor Julie Chen, at the stages of "Guiding Light," television's longest-running daytime drama.  In making the announcement, Peter Price, President of the National Television Academy, was joined by actors Mandy Bruno and Bradley Cole of "Guiding Light"; Terri Colombino and Austin Peck of "As the World Turns"; Brandon Beemer of "Days of Our Lives"; Cathy Jeneen Doe of "Passions"; Bree Williamson of "One Life to Live" and Jacob Young of "All My Children." 

CBS led the nominations with 57, including sweeping the category of Outstanding Lead Actress with Maura West of "As The World Turns", Crystal Chappell of "Guiding Light," Kim Zimmer of "Guiding Light," Jeanne Cooper and Michelle Stafford of "The Young and the Restless" all being nominated.  CBS led the Outstanding Lead Actor category with four out of five nominations.  Michael Park of "As The World Turns," Ricky Paull Goldin of "Guiding Light," Peter Bergman and Christian LeBlanc of "The Young and the Restless" were all nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.  CBS dominated the Outstanding Drama Series category with three out of four nominations for "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Guiding Light" and "The Young and the Restless."  Lesli Kay of "The Bold and the Beautiful" and Gina Tognoni of "Guiding Light" were nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress.  Trent Dawson of "As The World Turns," Greg Rikaart and Kristoff St. John of "The Young and the Restless" were nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor.  Game show host Bob Barker is up for his 18th and 19th Emmy nominations as Outstanding Game Show Host and Executive Producer of "The Price is Right."
